Wasabi - Fox Nuts by Too Yumm !!

Wasabi - Fox Nuts by Too Yumm !!

Hey guys! Just hopped into a convenience store the other day, and thought to myself to pick one of this healthy and tasty quick snack.
Had to choose from various flavors>> Tandoori - Homestyle Classic - Chatpata Masala - Wasabi
So, picked up this little-exploding shell ;)

Wasabi is a plant of the Brassicaceae family, which includes cabbages, horseradish, and even mustard (Sarson in Punjabi)
Sometimes the Japanese Horseradish is used to make Wasabi, due to curtailment of Wasabi plant (stem part).

Wasabi is frequently used as a chutney or a flavoring to make Sushi, other foodstuffs, to make it spicier and strongly flavorful.

Wasabi flavor is raging, having a highly powerful & hot pungencymore kindred to hot mustard than the capsaicin in a chili pepper, producing vapors that stimulate the nasal passages more than the tongue.

Until now many haven't figured out why eating a blob of wasabi makes it feel like your head or brain might explode !! ;)

Many of you might be very familiar with foxnuts, but for those who do not know the catch; here it is !!

Foxnuts are basically Makhana (Hindi), derived from the Lotus plant Euryale ferox, that produces starchy white seeds that are completely edible. The Lotus flower that is known for its beauty around the world, and is considered as the National flower of India: offers a lot in the form of lotus seeds or makhana.

This plant is basically cultivated for its edible seeds, in the low land areas of Bihar India, and also elsewhere in the world - Korea, Japan, Russia

It is very alike to one of the highly consumed snack in the world Popcorn which is light-tummied, crunchy & very healthy - of course.

The carefully sorted out lotus seeds - foxnuts, can be roasted, baked or popped with a hint of desi ghee (clarified butter) and then be adding up the spices or flavorings of your own choice to spice up the organoleptic taste of tongue. Can be eaten as an evening tea-time snack.

Where to buy: Any convenience store, available in various flavors.

How much: Rs. 20/- per packet

Taste: Be careful to eat in- one at a time (Wasabi flavor), rest others can be enjoyed nicely

Health quotient: Very healthy, crunchy factor lingers well, tasty too.

Thanks for reading my blog.
Kindly share the goodness of food all throughout

Heartily your's own:
